You have a network of consumers, suppliers and partners and often need to collaborate with them by sharing information. But this is difficult because different software applications are used and this means systems just do not easily ‘talk’ to each other. DataHub is based on our proven Transformation Manager (TM) integration platform. And TM technology has been in staged development since 1996 and is solving demanding data integration and aggregation problems across a range of industries around the world.
Here’s how it works.
DataHub is a service that enables multiple Nodes (points on the network) to be connected with a secure server that is based at our data centre. It is a hosted service that operates through the internet so no physical implementation is required at any site.
When a new DataHub is established it is given a dedicated web address. To join, each of the participants you want to collaborate with simply logs in and the set-up software is automatically launched.
No specialist knowledge is required, only the ability to use a web browser and, once established, DataHub automatically collects data. It also downloads any new functionality or updates via the internet and this eliminates the burden of maintenance for participants.
The data that is extracted is aggregated and transformed into a format you specify and then securely transmitted to you via the internet.
Secure and rapid data transfer is a key feature of DataHub. Prior to transmission all data is compressed to reduce transfer time and then encrypted using RSA public key cryptography with 2048 bit encryption. The private key is never distributed so the data is always totally secure.
The real power of DataHub is that multiple, disparate locations can be processed in this way. Each will have data in different formats and when it arrives at our data centre it is converted into a single stream of data that you can use.
